Low frequencies coming from wood or metal flooring on a live stage can travel through metal such as a microphone stand to create unwanted resonance that can negatively impact your live mix. This is particularly the case with kick drum mics, positioned directly in front of the kick where low bass and vibration are common. Primacoustic’s KickStand is a heavy microphone boom-arm isolator that combines a massive stabilizing base with an isolation pad to eliminate resonance from the stage, drum riser and studio floor from entering the microphone. The design combines a thick, high-density open cell acoustic foam isolation pad with a laser cut steel platform to essentially decoupling the microphone stand from the stage and eliminate unwanted resonance.
