Custom Angles
Up or down custom angles
Same performance as standard Recoils Custom size to fit your monitors For custom angles, a flat fee per monitor is charged. Simply determine the angle that best suits your specific need and when ordering, make sure you tell your dealer the angle you wish to have. This generally takes 4 to 6 weeks after payment has been received depending on backlog. Please contact your authorized Primacoustic dealer for details on pricing and ordering. Keep in mind that custom designs must be paid in full before ordering as these cannot be returned because they have been specifically manufactured for your specific needs. Determine the Recoil angle for your system by measuring the height of your speaker mounting stand, shelf or meter-bridge, the optimal height of the loudspeaker in reference to your eyes and ears and the distance from the monitors to your head. Recoil Custom Angles Primacoustic offers users the option to custom order Recoil Stabilizers at different angles to meet their specific requirements. These are typically ordered in 5 degree increments as this generally suffices. To calculate the appropriate down-firing angle, we have made it easy! Foillow these steps: 1. Your ear height will be considered the baseline. From the baseline, all calculations are derived. 2. Measure the distance along the baseline from your ears to the front of your reference monitors. Reference: a 3. Measure the height from the baseline up to where you monitor's tweeter will be with reference to the baseline. Add 2" to include the height of the Recoil Stabilizer base thickness. 4. Refer to this table to get the approximate down-firing angle. For those that wish to order Recoils with an up-firing angle, follow the second reference chart. Now that you have figured out the approximate angle, take a minute to think about where you sit… how you lean back when listening and how you may lean forward. This will indicate the general 'sweet spot'. Although high frequencies are more linear than lows, tweeters do not fire all frequencies in a straight line. Sound expands as it projects forward. This allows you to move in and out of the sweet spot without loosing the frequency spectrum. This also means that finding an average angle will b more than adequate for most listening. In fact, 95 of Recoil users will likely use no angle or only a slight 5 degree angle. It is also important to note that although the Recoil Stabilizers have a very good retention pad on the top surface, using firing angles in excess of 15 is not recommended. Not that there is a problem, only we cannot anticipate the volume levels and vibration which could of course cause a loudspeaker to fall. To avoid this eventuality, we simply suggest you avoid radical angles. If you do decide to go beyond 15, then make sure you keep an eye on your monitors! We would hate to hear about them falling onto your console! |
