GoTrap Details and Specifications

Rigid membrane resonates to trap bass while also blocking high frequencies.
GoTrap is two sided with front and rear glass wool fabric panels.
Tough dovetailed frame made of Baltic Birch ply.
Routed handles for easy transport.
Rubber feet won't scratch wood floors.
Internal six inch deep air cavity absorbs low frequencies.
Two inch glass wool panel for excellent absorption.
Fabric facing available in black, grey and beige.

GoTrap is a studio gobo designed to control spill between instruments that also acts as a combination broadband absorber and bass trap to help control excessive bass. Sound control is achieved by combining three acoustical principles into a single device:

1. To handle lower mid-range and upper frequencies, a set of 2" thick absorptive panels are mounted on the front and back. These are made from 6lb per cubic foot high-density encapsulated glass wool for maximum absorption.

2. Between the acoustic panels is a rigid membrane that acts as a sound block to control spill while also naturally resonating at lower frequencies. This helps absorb low frequency bass while providing sufficient mass to contain sound.

3. An 8" air cavity between the acoustic panels is created by the plywood enclosure. This creates a natural bass trap that serves to further attenuate bass in the troublesome 100Hz region.

The GoTrap enclosure is made from Baltic birch plywood with dovetail joints and a durable natural finish. The GoTrap ships flat to save on freight and final assembly is performed using simple household tools in about 15 minutes from start to finish!

Test data provided by Bodycote Materials Testing Inc. This method, designated as ASTM E 84-05, "Standard Method of Test for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials", is used to measure and describe the response of materials, products, or assemblies to heat and flame under controlled conditions, but does not by itself incorporate all factors required for fire-hazard or fire-risk assessment of the materials, products, or assemblies under actual fire condition.

Fire and burn test data applies to the Broadway acoustic panel only and does not include the wood encasement or the internal membrane for fire-hazard or fire-risk assessment. Please consult your local building authority and/or insurance underwriter to ensure the product meets local building codes.

Due to the size of the wavelengths and limitations of the testing facilities, low frequency absorption data is based on a combination of Broadway panel test results from Riverbank Acoustical Laboratories and 1/4 wave length calculations.
