The challenge in treating the tri-corner really comes down to finding a way to do it that looks good. No one wants to build a wood frame or have steel plates showing after the installation. The Cumulus concept took 2 minutes to figure out. Coming up with an elegant solution took several years of trial and error.
There are several reasons for this. First of all, when you have 20 different products in stock, each time you add a color, you add 20 more SKUs (Stock Keeping Units). By reducing inventory we can lower the cost. We chose the three most popular colors that make up 80% of the acoustic panel purchases. This makes colors easy to select, particularly when committees are involved.
Yes. All you do is lay out the fabric you want to use, cut it to shape, get some 3M spray adhesive and wrap the Cumulus. Any breathable fabric will work just fine without affecting the acoustical performance.
Unlike almost all other fiberglass panels, that are merely cut and then wrapped in fabric, Primacoustic Broadway panels are fully encapsulated with micromesh on both front and back surfaces and then the panels are resin hardened around the edges after the are cut to size in the factory. The panels are only wrapped after they have been completely sealed. This retains the minute fibers from leaching, a problem that can occur when handling raw fiberglass.
Yes. All Primacoustic acoustic panels are tested following the ASTM-E84 and Can-UL-S102 protocol to meet Class-A fire and smoke designation. This allows Broadway panels such as the Cumulus to be used anywhere.
For regular cleaning, we recommend a light vacuum. If the panel has been soiled, then very light detergent and a damp warm water cloth.
The more panels you put up, the more sound you will absorb. So if you find that after you have mounted two panels, you want more control, simply add two more.
