How many Cumuli should I mount in my room?
Ideally, you would have Cumulus in all four corners. But as this may not always be practical, we put two in each box to let folks add them as they need them.
Does the Cumulus come in other colors?
If black, grey and beige does not suit your room, then you can always cover the Cumulus using any breathable fabric. Remember, sound travels through air. A second fabric coating will not affect the panel's performance. To cover, simply get some spray-on adhesive, spray the fabric and then place the Cumulus on top. Then, spray the back side of the panel and fold the fabric back. Use scissors to cut excess fabric. Let dry and mount!
Will the cumulous only control bass?
No. It will control all frequencies above the cut-off point. This measures at approximately 125Hz. Higher frequencies will be absorbed by the acoustic panel.
Is the Cumulus the only device I need to control sound in my home theatre?
No not really… but it is a great start. In fact it is likely the most important device you can put in a room to help control the problematic low-mid region which causes a room to sound boomy. Treating the walls using Broadway panels will further reduce primary reflections and help eliminate flutter echo, standing waves and other room artifacts. But often times, someone in the family may not be so willing to take down paintings in lieu of acoustic panels. Especially in a multi-function family room / home theatre!
Will I scratch the wall when I mount the Cumulus?
The metal clasps used to mount the Cumulus are covered in a clear plastic to help reduce opportunity to scratch the wall surface. If you do scratch the wall, you will have to use a bit of touch-up paint to repair.
Is the Cumulus safe to use in commercial spaces?
Broadway acoustic panels have been tested in an independent laboratory to ensure they pass stringent Class-1 fire requirements set out by the US and Canadian governments. This makes them safe to use in any commercial building.
Is fiberglass safe? What about the fibers escaping in the air?
Primacoustic Broadway panels are completely encapsulated with micromesh and resin hardened edges to ensure that the minute fibers cannot escape. In the unlikely occurrence that a panel is damaged, it is simply a matter of replacing the panel.
