Treating the ceiling is the final hurdle in controlling sound in a studio. The 'monitor to ceiling' reflections can reduce imaging while the 'floor to ceiling' parallel surfaces can cause resonance due to the standing waves.

The Primacoustic Cloud-9 ceiling panel system is a complete ceiling kit that includes high-density open cell absorptive foam panels, sturdy backboards and adhesive. In fact, everything you need to get great professional results easily is included. All you do is glue the acoustic panels to the backboards, let cure, and then affix the complete Cloud-9 assembly to the ceiling using finishing nails or drywall screws. No holding the panels overhead while waiting for the adhesive to set and no permanent damage to your ceiling!

Following the LEDE concept, Cloud-9 is usually placed above the console. When combined with wall systems like Europa and Orientique, Cloud-9 helps create your room's 'dead-end' by reducing flutter echo, standing waves and strong primary reflections. If desired, Primacoustic Cloud-9 may be painted with latex paint using an airless sprayer. Shipped as a package of four 24” x 40” panels with 3 inches of depth for effective absorption down to 500Hz.

Green
arrow is the direct sound from monitors.
Red arrow represents sound reflected off the ceiling causes comb filtering, image smear and ear fatigue in the mixing "sweet spot".
