Broadway London 12A Room Kit

Acoustic treatment kit designed for rooms with a footprint of approximately 120 to 150 ft. square feet (11 to 14 sq./meters). The Broadway London 12A room kit follows a variant of the LEDE concept (live-end, dead-end) whereby the source or transmit section of the room has greater dampening while the receive section is sparsely treated in effort to retain natural room ambiance.

The London 12A kit contains: Fabric wrapped fiberglass acoustic panels, all mounting hardware, impalers, wall anchors and instructions for easy installation.

Example Studio Layouts:

10' x 12' (3m x 3.6m)

This room represents a typical size found in homes and offices. The Broadway London 12A room kit has been laid out in a LEDE format whereby the source end contains more acoustic treatment while the receive end has been left relatively live.

Due to the window and door, we chose to position the work area at one of the narrow ends. The goal here is to provide good left/right imaging by applying equal treatment to both side walls.

8' x 14' (2.4m x 4.2m)

This long and narrow room is another typical size found in homes and offices. Again, the Broadway London 12A room kit has been laid out in a LEDE format.

The window and closet limit the number of ways the workstation can be positioned. We placed the acoustic treatment mostly along the source wall to maintain the left/right imaging and absorb flutter echoes between the source and receive walls.

3D Orbital Movie (640 x 480 3.5meg)

11' x 12' (3.3m x 4.2m)

In a virtually square room it can be advantageous to locate the workstation facing a corner so the side walls can be equally treated to create a consistent left/right image.

Stacking the 24" x 48" Broadband panel is not only esthetically pleasing but also increases the low frequency absorption.

Add-on options:

Cumulus Triangle Traps
These handy corner traps help control the low-mid room resonance that can often be excessive. Cumulus quickly ‘spring mount’ in the upper corners where two walls and the ceiling intersect using a single eye-screw. Treating these corners can be particularly beneficial due to the way sound migrates. [more...]

Stratus Console Cloud
Controlling sound in the all important ‘sweet spot’ can be maximized by adding treatment above the console. This is easily accomplished using a series of Stratus clouds set up in a formation that spans the width of the work area. Stratus kits contain retaining bars that make them easy to hang or surface mount depending on the room height. [more...]

MaxTrap and FullTrap Bass Absorbers
Low frequency bass control helps smooth out the resonant frequencies in the room by attenuating fundamentals that cause room nodes to either cancel or amplify bass at specific frequencies. The MaxTrap (corner bass trap) and FullTrap (wall mount bass trap) are enclosed bass traps equipped with a suspended diaphragmatic resonator that acts like a limp mass and remove difficult to manage bass in the problematic 75Hz to 200 Hz region. [more...]

Razorblade Quadratic Diffuser
For critical listening, nothing works better than strategically treating the receive end of the room with true deep well quadratic diffusion. The award winning Razorblade works by smoothing out resonant peaks in the directional 400Hz and above zones while expanding the sense of space and airiness in the room. [more...]
